Cover and back cover of the album “To Model Phenomena” by Shifting Heigo

To Model Phenomena is out today,

It all began with the question “what is supersymmetry?”—from there, the album took shape as a direct confrontation with the fear of change, seen through nine different perspectives. From art and science to the way we use language.

Each answer opened a new reality and brought a loss of control, through which Shifting Heigo has shaped an immense sound—at times fractured—distorted in a way that echoes the noise of LOW. A metric that runs parallel to Autechre’s inner mechanics, combined with a classical approach to synthesis reminiscent of Isao Tomita. But in context, it’s clear: behind it all is a musician who has found and embraced his own voice.

The contribution of Paco Pomet, with the front and back cover artwork, reinforces the album’s message: making visible a reality we do not understand and are not equipped to handle.

An album that began in Doha and gradually took shape between France, the UK, and Spain. Now, in Abu Dhabi, it’s time for it to travel on its own.
